Rosemarie Mitchell
Chief Executive Officer

As CEO of ABS, Rosemarie Mitchell is responsible for strategic planning, product and service development, quality initiatives, and establishing the vision, mission and direction of the organization. Prior to co-founding ABS in 1982 and more recently BlueStreakIT, Mitchell served as President of Creative Communications, a public relations firm. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northeastern University. Mitchell is a member of the Illinois Institute of Technology Board of Trustees as well as Chair of the Board of Overseers for IIT's Stuart School of Business. Mitchell served on the Harris Bank Barrington Board of Directors and is past President of the Board of Directors for the Barrington Area Council on Aging. Mitchell also serves on The University of Chicago Visiting Committee to the Division of the Biological Sciences and the Pritzker School of Medicine and is a member of Vistage, an international organization of Presidents and CEOs.
 

 

 

Robert Koch
President

Robert Koch was named President on August 1, 2009, assuming responsibility for ABS's commitment to service excellence and its pursuit of corporate growth. Koch succeeds interim President James Tesch who will continue to serve in an advisory capacity to the firm. Mr. Koch has been with ABS since April 2000 and has held various executive positions including Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and General Manager. Most recently Koch was accountable not only for the financial management, forecasting and operational performance of ABS, but also for positioning the company to sustain its growth objectives. Prior to joining ABS, Koch served as Vice President-Accounting, Systems and Administration for the Industrial Bank of Japan and as Manager of International Accounting and Reporting for Baker & McKenzie. Koch is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a B.S. degree from DePaul University. He is a member of the Illinois CPA Society and Vistage, serves on the Board of Directors for a local service agency and is an elected member of his community's Board of Education.
 

Thomas Mitchell
Vice President and Chief Technology Officer

In his role as CTO, Thomas Mitchell is responsible for introducing new technologies that will enhance the firm's efficiency, increase capacity and continually improve service to ABS clients. Before co-founding ABS in 1982, Mitchell's IT experience covered a broad range of disciplines from applications development to sales and marketing management. Mitchell was General Manager of Uarco, Inc., an integrator of accounting systems for the business enterprise. Prior to Uarco, he was a Product Line Manager for Digital Equipment Corporation's Commercial OEM and Software Services. Mitchell began his career with Honeywell in systems and then sales for their family of main frame computers and services. He holds a B.A. from Northeastern University in Boston.
 

Stefan Schurman
Director of Sales and Marketing

As Director of Sales and Marketing, Schurman leads the firm's sales organization and marketing strategy, working closely with top clients and prospects to develop IT solutions comprising help desk, desktop, managed hosting, and networking services. Previously, Schurman led account strategy and sales initiatives at Opsware, Inc., a leading provider of data center automation solutions. Prior to Opsware, Schurman was with IBM Corporation, initially as a Software Engineering Specialist within the Rational software brand, then as a product manager with the Rational Software Configuration Management product line as well as the Rational Systems Development solution. As a product manager, he worked with development teams to create technical strategies and product roadmaps, playing a key role in product launches and go-to-market strategies. Schurman holds a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from Carleton University.
 

Hector Gonzalez
Director of Operations

Hector Gonzalez directs and coordinates the operations of ABS, managing daily activities and allocating tasks and resources to meet quality standards for service and customer satisfaction.   Gonzalez also acts as chief liaison with clients recommending optimum solutions to help achieve business objectives.  Prior to his 10-year tenure at ABS, he served as Operations Manager for Inacom, a leading IT consulting firm, and managed multiple locations including both on-site and remote technical engineers.  In addition to various industry related certifications, including MCP and CNA, Gonzalez holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Western Illinois University.
 

Sharanjit Bhatthal
Director of Consulting and Networking Services

With 12 years of professional experience, Sharanjit Bhatthal is responsible for managing all functions of the Consulting and Networking division including client services and support, ABS infrastructure, project management and solution design.  In his role as Director, Bhatthal also chairs ABS’s Technology Committee tasked with exploring new products and services as well as market and industry trends.  Previously, Bhatthal was Senior Network Engineer and Project Manager at NetVision Networks, a systems integration firm located in the Chicago area. In addition to various technical certifications such as CCNA and CCNE, Bhatthal holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Electronic Engineering and Technology from the Devry Institute of Technology.
 
TJ Mitchell
Vice President of BlueStreakIT

TJ Mitchell first joined ABS when the company was founded in 1982.  In the early 1990s, he managed ABS’s computer repair division overseeing production and quality control for its largest client, Unysis Corporation.   With the launch of BlueStreakIT, an ABS subsidiary, Mitchell was named Vice President, overseeing the sales and marketing initiatives of the new holding and assuming responsibility for its growth. Prior to his current role, Mitchell held the title of Manager of Administrative Services which included all HR functions, purchasing, and sales support. Mitchell holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in both Public Affairs and English from Syracuse University.
