| Rolling Meadows, IL In 1982, Tom Mitchell had a dream: The successful computer industry executive wanted nothing more than to start his own business. So when the firm Mitchell worked for decided to close its Applied Business Systems (ABS) division, Mitchell took a chance. He signed a volume reseller agreement with Digital Equipment Corporation and began selling a range of products including minicomputer systems, modules, and spare parts as well as the "ABS" software. The business took off landing customers such as Ford, Kraft, and AT&T. It wasn't long before Rosemarie Mitchell joined her husband to guide the growing company, which the couple decided to name ABS Associates, Inc. In 1985 ABS's Desktop Services operation was established, and the Midwest Stock Exchange became its first client. The division expanded further and in the early 90's was the major monitor and printer repair vendor for Unisys Corporation and its myriad of clients. In 1987 ABS added a Networking and Consulting practice which today serves such clients as Omron Healthcare, Pace, Holden International, and other mid-size corporations. ABShelp™, the company's web-based knowledge center which includes VoIP technology, was launched in 2001, and in that same time period, after 18 years of furnishing a variety of services to Motorola, ABS was selected to provide help desk support to over 50,000 Motorola users in North America and desktop services to its 15,000 employees throughout the Midwest. In 2004, Serena Software chose ABS as its exclusive hosting partner for TeamTrack and customers such as HP, Comcast, EDS, and Delta Environmental were transitioned to ABS' s data center. For 25 years, ABS Associates has served customers across the nation, evolving its service offerings to include help desk, desktop, network, and hosting services. As the company continues to grow, the Mitchells maintain a culture of ethical excellence, high-quality services and a passion for putting the customers first. Underlying ABS's success is the desire to always add value - to its customers, employees, and the industry - a characteristic that does not go unnoticed by its clients. "Ennis, Knupp & Associates, Inc. extends its sincere congratulations to the entire ABS team for reaching this important milestone," said Greg Pritz, Principal & Chief Operating Officer of Ennis, Knupp & Associates, Inc. "From the very start, ABS has proven to be a true business partner, and we look forward to continuing this 'win-win' relationship."
