ABS CEO Rosemarie Mitchell Wins Stevie Award for Women in Business

November 29, 2016 – ABS’s CEO Rosemarie Mitchell has been named the winner of a Bronze Stevie® Award in the Female Executive of the Year – Business Services category in the 13th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business are the world’s top honors for female entrepreneurs, executives, employees and the organizations they run.  All individuals and organizations worldwide are eligible to submit nominations – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small. The 2016 awards received entries from 31 nations and territories.

Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the awards were presented to winners last night during a dinner event attended by more than 500 people at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.  The event was broadcast on Livestream.

More than 1,400 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in more than 90 categories, including Entrepreneur of the Year, Executive of the Year, Company of the Year, Startup of the Year, Women Helping Women, and Women Run Workplace of the Year, among others.  ABS Associates, Inc. won in the Female Executive of the Year – Business Services for companies with 11 to 2,500 employees.

As CEO of ABS, Rosemarie Mitchell is responsible for strategic planning, product and service development, quality initiatives, and establishing the vision, mission, and direction of the organization. She has been instrumental in its growth since co-founding the organization in 1982, creating a culture that highly values its employees and their contributions to the company. Since 2015 Ms. Mitchell has authorized heavy investments in technology to update and improve the company’s infrastructure for its Service Desk, stream-lining processes for ABS agents and analysts.  She solidified relationships with two key partners which resulted in major contracts being signed, has initiated management training programs to address compliance with current HR requirements and hosted employee recognition events presenting awards for 15, 10, and 5 years of service to ABS.  “I am thrilled to be recognized for my service to our organization at such a prestigious event,” says Ms. Mitchell. “While individual contributions have an impact on the success of any organization, we cannot forget that our good fortune is primarily due to the clients we serve and the team of IT professionals that keep them coming back for support year after year.”

Stevie Award winners were selected by more than 160 professionals worldwide who participated in the judging process this year.

“Each year we think the quality of achievements portrayed in Stevie-winning nominations couldn’t possibly get any better, and each year the amazing women who are recognized in this program prove us wrong,” said Michael Gallagher, Stevie Awards founder and president.  “We are thrilled and humbled to be able to recognize so many outstanding women in the Stevie Awards for Women in Business, and to share the stories of their achievement with the world.”
